Mohawk Valley, Catskills, Major Winter Storm Possible For January 25th-27th 2020, UP to 36 inchs

Up to 36 inchs of snow could fall this coming weekend after a moderate snow already covers the area. This recent snow storm was very fast moving and passed by the state quickly advancing eastward. Areas north and west of Albany will get blowing snow and heavier bands. Next weekends system could dump
heavier over a longer, narrower area.
Albany, Adirondacks, Mohawk Valley, and the Catskill Mountains could see another 2-3 feet of snow. Due to track and timing of the exact arrival of cold air, the storm may advance inland and not form off shore. If that happens we will get heavy wet snow and rain. Current ECMWF and CMC are showing a very strong system, while the GFS  forecast show a warmer upper trough behind the system. ICON german forecast shows a strong high pressure baring  in with a storm moving up the  coast. Forecast will be more clear in the coming days, please check back for more updates. News Home Page

      I don't know about this blog, but most forecasters were predicting much heavier than what we actually got. For this I am VERY GLAD! And if the above is predicted, again...I hope they are WRONG!

      The reports I saw said 3-6" for the Albany area... and we got 4, so they were pretty dead on.
